Gates to Hell (Amstrad CPC)

Estamos en un futuro próximo y resulta que una organización de antiguos gurús de los ordenadores (Sinclair, Sugar,...) se han enterado de los intentos de Mr. Gates para alienar a la humanidad con su imprescindible nuevo sistema operativo: Windows to Hell (W2H). Este SO se está desarrollando en secreto en las ultrasecretas instalaciones de Microchoft. La única forma de evitar que toda la humanidad caiga en manos de Mr.Gates es destruyendo el W2H completamente, destrozando todas las grabaciones y todos los códigos fuente que se encuentran en el ordenador central del búnker, que corre un SO windows. Expertos informáticos contratados por los gurús de otros tiempos han conseguido infiltrarse en uno de los ordenadores del búnker y lo han infectado con un virus altamente peligroso que es capaz de reventar cualquier Windows, el problema es que no han podido acceder al ordenador central ya que no está conectado al exterior. Para poder destruir el W2H hay que infiltrarse en el búnker e infectar el ordenador central.

We are in the near future and it turns out that an organization of former computer gurus (Sinclair, Sugar,...) have gotten wind of Mr. Gates' attempts to alienate mankind with his must-have new operating system: Windows to Hell (W2H). This OS is being secretly developed in top-secret Microchoft facilities. The only way to prevent all of humanity from falling into the hands of Mr. Gates is to destroy W2H completely, destroying all the recordings and all the source code found on the bunker's mainframe computer, which runs a windows OS. Computer experts hired by the gurus of the past have managed to infiltrate one of the bunker's computers and have infected it with a highly dangerous virus that is capable of crashing any Windows, the problem is that they have not been able to access the main computer as it is not connected to the outside. In order to destroy the W2H it is necessary to infiltrate the bunker and infect the main computer.

El grupo de gurús, consciente de la importancia de la misión, ha decidido reclutar a un joven de la vieja guardia, antiguo usuario de Amstrad que valore la libertad y el conocimiento. Alguien capaz de sacar adelante un reto en el que le pueda ir la vida, pero que sepa que con el éxito de su misión puede salvar a la humanidad. Tú has sido elegido, tu objetivo es borrar el W2H del mapa. La recompensa, la libertad.

El Juego
A lo largo de tres niveles y más de 150 pantallas has de destruir el W2H y escapar.

Nivel 1.
El juego comienza en el bosque, la localización exacta del búnker es desconocida pero se sabe que existe un acceso escondido. Localiza la entrada.

Nivel 2.
En el búnker has de localizar e infectar el ordenador central. Recuerda, se ha conseguido infectar uno de los ordenadores, pero no el central. Tu misión es encontrar el modo de transferir el virus capaz de destruir el desarrollo del W2H.

Nivel 3.
Con el W2H destruido, escapa con vida, ojo con las trampas y con el tiempo, que no es infinito. Si logras escapar habrás cumplido tu misión y habrás salvado a la humanidad. Por ahora.

The group of gurus, aware of the importance of the mission, has decided to recruit a young man of the old guard, a former Amstrad user who values freedom and knowledge. The Game

Throughout three levels and more than 150 screens you have to destroy the W2H and escape.

Level 1.

The game starts in the forest, the exact location of the bunker is unknown but it is known that there is a hidden access. Locate the entrance.

Level 2.

In the bunker you have to locate and infect the central computer. Remember, one of the computers has been successfully infected, but not the main computer. Your mission is to find a way to transfer the virus capable of destroying the development of W2H.

Level 3.

With the W2H destroyed, escape with your life, be careful with the traps and with the time, which is not infinite. If you manage to escape you will have accomplished your mission and you will have saved humanity. For now.

Enemigos.
Los enemigos son tipo EBT (Enemigos básicamente tontos) con lo que será fácil evitarlos. A lo largo de los tres niveles encontrarás culebras, loros, murciélagos, flechas, monitores asesinos y bartos. Ten cuidado con todos ellos, si te tocan decrementarán tu fuerza vital y si llega a cero, fracasarás.

Ayudas.
En el nivel 2 hay algunos Z80 perdidos por ahí, Mr. Gates trató de hacerlos desaparecer pero algunos quedan escondidos, ellos te renovarán la vida.


Controles
Los controles son redefinibles aunque inicialmente estén a los siguientes valores:

Derecha: Cursor derecha
Izquierda: Cursor izquierda
Salto largo: Cursor arriba
Salto corto: Cursor abajo

La tecla ESC durante el juego hace que se aborte, y durante las presentaciones, que se cancelen. Esta tecla no es redefinible.

Enemies.

The enemies are EBT type (basically dumb enemies) so it will be easy to avoid them. Throughout the three levels you will find snakes, parrots, bats, arrows, killer monitors and bartos. Be careful with all of them, if they touch you they will decrease your life force and if it reaches zero, you will fail.

Help.

In level 2 there are some Z80s lost around, Mr. Gates tried to make them disappear but some of them are hidden, they will renew your life.

Controls

The controls can be redefined although initially they are set to the following values:

Right: Cursor right

Left: Cursor left: Cursor left

Long jump: Cursor up

Short jump: Cursor down

The ESC key during the game causes the game to abort, and during presentations, to cancel. This key is not redefinable.
